Since CLT or Cross Laminated Timber technology came into the market by showing its amazing building performance, several multi-unit buildings have been built around the world. One of the most spectacular example is the Brock Commons at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, which has been topped off, making it the world’s tallest wood building. “The 18-story tower, a student residence, was completed in less than 70 days using prefabricated components. The project was completed four months earlier than expected.”
Altough there is following new building in Norway, which expected to be finished in 2019, the Brock Commons still will keep the status of the forst highet wooden skycrapper in the world.
